1. Warmth
The structural characteristics of the yarn have a certain relationship with the warmth of the clothing, because the structure of the yarn determines whether a static air layer can be formed between the fibers.
The structure of the yarn is fluffy, there are more voids in the fabric, forming an air layer. When there is no wind, there is more still air and better heat retention; while when there is wind, the air can smoothly pass between the yarns, so the coolness is better.
For the yarn with a tight structure, the fabric structure made by it is relatively tight, so the air flow is blocked, and the heat retention is better; when the structure is too tight, the air trapped in the fabric is reduced, that is, the static air is reduced, then Warmth is poor.
2. Hygroscopicity
The hygroscopicity of the yarn depends on the fiber properties and yarn structure. If the filament yarn is smooth, the woven fabric is easy to stick to the body, if the fabric is relatively tight, it is difficult for moisture to penetrate the fabric. The surface of the staple fiber yarn is shaggy, which reduces contact with the skin, improves breathability, and makes wearing comfortable.
Second, the impact of yarn structure on durability
①The tensile strength, elasticity and abrasion resistance of the yarn affect the durability of the garment. Influenced by yarn structure.
②Effect of yarn structure on fuzzing and pilling performance: After a fiber in filament yarn is broken, one end is still attached to the yarn, the broken end curls itself, and is pilled by friction; blended staple fiber yarn has poor cohesion and is easy Prolapse.
③The impact on elasticity
Staple yarn: When a certain amount of external force is applied to the staple fiber yarn, the staple fiber is straightened from the crimp and the external force is removed, which can restore elasticity; and after the staple fiber is straightened and continues to apply force to it, the staple fiber will slip Move or slip, then cancel the external force will produce unrecoverable deformation.
Filament yarn: The external force is applied to the filament yarn. Because it does not curl itself, the degree of extension depends on the performance of the fiber, so its elasticity is small.
Twist also has a greater effect on elasticity: yarns with large twists have greater friction between fibers, so in the elastic range, they are not easy to be stretched and the elasticity is relatively poor; while yarns with low twists have more friction between fibers Small, relatively easy to be stretched, and good elasticity.
